I am currently on an extended break in France, as it has been a very full on 18 months for myself and my husband. What I must say, is that everyone in France has been absolutely welcoming and friendly, and we have enjoyed almost every minute of our stay here. We spent 4 weeks near La Baule Escoublac, with stunning weather and the most glorious beach, which stretches 9km. There have been a few minor clashes with drivers, as I cannot tolerate people driving literally 3 inches off my back bumper, but overall, France for us is a beautiful country to visit, and we try to visit as often as our schedules permit.
